Electrochemical studies of catechol at ordinary and mesoporous platinum electrodes via convolutive voltammetry and numerical simulation methods

Abstract On the normal platinum electrode and mesoporous Pt electrode, electrochemical behaviour of catechol was studied using convolutive cyclic voltammetry numerical simulation. The nanostructured structure electrochemically deposited from hexadic liquid crystalline template C 16 EO 8 surfactant. electrocatalytic feature reversibility within oxidation in 1.0 M HClO 4 have been found to be extraordinary. At ordinary electrodes, separation between peaks (∆Ep) became reduced 430 75 mV vs. SCE. Catechol voltammograms show one anodic peak inside forward scan, but corresponding cathodic disappears reverse direction, a new is observed at lower potential value electrode.
